DEFRANCO FITNESS TIPS: HOW TO USE MOBILITY RESISTANCE BANDS
Today I’m going to talk about Onnit’s new Mobility Bands, a new type of resistance band created specifically for mobility workouts. Anybody who knows anything about me or my training knows that resistance bands are a huge component of our total programming, and these mobility resistance bands are a great for two things:
- A great way for you to improve your mobility and your flexibility.
- Help you improve recovery time.
Use Mobility Resistance Bands for Increasing Flexibility
These resistance bands are great for stretching any muscle, upper and lower body, or any tissue that’s feeling tight. Resistance bands are great for helping you to get into proper position when you’re trying to stretch and increase your range of motion. You can mobilize any muscle or joint using resistance bands much better than simply performing static stretching on your own without any implements.
Use Mobility Resistance Bands for Recovery
Besides the mobility component, you can use resistance bands for what we call “extra workouts.” Extra workouts are lower intensity workouts used in between your high-intensity workouts.
A better way to recover from intense training sessions is to actually do something.
If you just sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing your body has a tendency to tighten up from low back pain and joint stiffness. By performing lower intensity workouts using mobility resistance bands you can recover from those tougher sessions, allowing you to get ready for the next session.
